A discreet technology practice

Considered technology advisory.

For executives, founders and small firms who require the calibre of counsel typically reserved for enterprise environments — without the apparatus that ordinarily accompanies it.

i. On the practice

A decade spent quietly building the systems that have to work.

Rward Advisory exists because there is a particular kind of expertise — the kind earned across a decade inside large, complex workplace technology environments — that does not travel well through ordinary channels. Managed service providers exist to sell managed services. Vendors exist to sell their own products. The expertise of someone who has spent their career deciding which of these to trust, and when, is rarely available to anyone outside the largest organisations.

This practice exists to make that experience available, on simple terms, to a small number of clients each year. Discreetly. By the hour. Without the apparatus.

The practice.

A practice spanning the full breadth of enterprise workplace technology, drawn from a decade of running such environments at scale. Engagements are typically short, sometimes long, never accompanied by the customary theatre.

i. Stewardship

Microsoft 365, kept in order.

Tenant configuration, licence rationalisation, mail flow, Conditional Access, Teams and SharePoint posture, and the slow drift of small settings that quietly weaken a setup over time. Reviewed. Documented. Hardened to standards that matter.

ii. Identity

Access, carefully composed.

Multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, conditional access policy, and the joiner-mover-leaver discipline that determines whether your identity boundary holds when it matters. Phishing-resistant, by default.

iii. Endpoint

Devices, brought to standards.

Unified endpoint management across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Build standards, security baselines, patch cadence, and the kind of hygiene that separates a managed estate from a collection of devices.

iv. Integrity

Domains that behave themselves.

SPF, DKIM, DMARC, quarantine policy, phishing defence, and message authentication. Making certain that your name on the internet conducts itself the way you would expect — against the threats that are actually used, today.

v. Convening

Meeting rooms that simply work.

Audio-visual specification, video conferencing, Microsoft Teams Rooms, executive home setups, and the unglamorous calibration that separates a meeting that begins on time from a meeting that does not.

vi. Connectivity

Networks that get out of the way.

Wireless coverage, wired infrastructure, secure remote access, and the quiet engineering that determines whether your network is something users notice or something they do not. Designed to be unobtrusive.

vii. Attendance

Executive technology, personally attended.

White-glove technology support for principals and the assistants who serve them. Discreet, capable, and available when ordinary support is not. The technology around an executive should never be the reason a meeting goes wrong.

viii. Counsel

Procurement, honestly advised.

Independent guidance on hardware, software, suppliers, and the lifecycle from purchase to retirement. No referral fees. No partner agreements. No hidden incentives. Simply an honest answer, considered carefully, and delivered plainly.

ii. On working together

Simple to work with. Serious about the work.

The terms of engagement are deliberately uncomplicated. Honourable to the client; honest to the practice; quiet to everyone else.

i.

No retainers

Pay only for time used. Small things stay small. Large things are scoped before any time is spent.

ii.

Plain English

No acronyms left unexplained. No theatre. You will know what was done, why, and what it changes.

iii.

Least privilege

Existing administrator accounts within your tenant, used only when necessary. No standing credentials held externally.

iv.

Discretion

Client work stays between client and adviser. References are made by introduction. The work speaks, or it does not.
